Hello, we do not have a Cigarette lighter socket on our car which were quite happy with, however we now want to plug in a telephone charger,,, there appears to be a plug socket in the position where the cigarette lighter would be, does anyone know if this is a standard optional fitment and what kind of plug do I require/where do you get them? and is there by any chance a plug with a cigarette lighter socket available, of course it would have been easier if we had have had the Ciggy Lighter in the first place!!
I understand that many new cars are being offered without Lighters, where do people plug in their Phone/Ipod/Laptop/SatNav/Tea Boilers thing/Radar Detector/Elect Foot Pumps/Blow up Dolls/Sheep and goodness knows what else, in fact is a single alternator hooked up to a 2.5ltr diesel up to the task??
Steve.

what is the car? although cigar lighters are not that common any more the standard 12V socket is. Any chance you could post a picture of the socket?

It's exactly the same socket - just with a lid instead of a cig lighter plugged in. It's called the no smokers pack!. I plug phone chargers, sat navs etc in quite happily.
