58 reg mercedes clc 220 cdi
I have a 58 reg clc 220 cdi , ive had it in MB tech to fix the problem, but they tell me the water pump is at fault. However I've flushed out the engine and hater core, and found that the pipes going to the heater core will flush in one direction, and his is the wrong way (ie from the header tank to the back of the engine on top) but won't go the correct way through the system.
I originally had a warm stream after doing a few miles on the motorway, but now after adjusting the control from hot to cold and back again i have no heat at all.
This is driving me mad now,im wondering what the best way is to correct this and fix (or get fixed the problem)
The engine goes up to temperature, but doesn't overheat.

Thanks in advance for any help you guys can give me on this

I have a problem with poor cabin heat in my 56 plate CLK 220, after a lot of searching on this forum I found an old thread where they found silica gel blocking their heater matrix which they managed to flush out, there were two contributers to that thread both with the same problem, I was going to try that last summer but was too unwell, going to get my indie to do it in the new year.
All I can do at present is to keep the system on manual with fan on low and can get some warmth after the engine is up to 86. On auto the fan is blowing too much cold air for the small ammount of hot water passing through the matrix.

I don't have a clc220, but the only thing I want to add is :-
The plumbing for the heater matrix has to cope with the situation when a matrix gets blocked. On some cars this is done by a matrix bypass plumbing.

Ive just sorted it, it just needed resetting by the 2 button process (holding down defrost/recirc buttons together for 5 seconds)
