Hello everybody.
First of all I want to apologize for my bad use of English as it is not my usual language
During a short trip last w-e with my 1981 280s I did an acceleration and suddenly the engine stopped after having a cloud of smoke out of the exhaust pipes and some gas smell, I use 98oct.
I tried to start again but had no ignition, just gnignigni ... and little smoke coming out of the carbs.
I did some research on this marvellous forum and it seems that a lot of failures happen due to problems with the OVP. After having looked everywhere in the engine compartment (fuse panel, back of the battery, ...) I found no OVP.
Should this mean that this device appeared on later models?
Another question is: does anyone have an idea about what happened to my car and could explain me how to fix this problem?
Maybe the fuel pump relay?
Thank you in advance.
Best regards,
Phil
