I have 88 560sl that is part of a collection of cars. The car is driven very rarely, maybe once a year if it is lucky. On the last start up, this weekend I notice that the Tach was not working, the ABS light was on, hard to start cold, and the idle was very high.
Any help as to the cause, and what is the cure.

thanks,
Jerome

Check the running battery voltage, could be the battery is feeling a little tired with the cold. Was the problem the same after a drive and a restart.

If not a starting blip with low battery then you have lost a speed signal

The OVP relay is the biggest cause 104 in the link

OVP relay feeds engine & ABS. On 107s (is it a LHD by the way as I've only seen 560SLs in the States) the engine is controlled by mechanical injection with some electrics to "fine tune" its running. If the electrics lose their feed, sympoms are poor cold start (hot usually OK) Idle either too high or too low + a small loss in performance. The OPR will cause all this. It will have a red fuse on top that might be blown. Trouble is, I can't remember where it is on a 107:confused::(
