No Video on Comand - help

I have just received my c-class merc with the comand installed. I was told that the comand system could play dvd's and display the picture while stationary. However, when i select Video a message appears saying "No Video" and nothing happens.

Anyone have any ideas or have i been mislead?

Hi

If you have command it will play dvd you need to check as it sounds like you have an audio 20 or ap50 niether of which will play dvd .

Take it back to the suppling dealer and get them to explain

Hi,

at the risk of Gannys and eggs!! did you put the dvd in the dashboard slot or in the navigation unit. if you placed it in the nav unit it wont play.


Not gonna mention "was it upside down, was it dvd" etc. dont wanna insult.

Hope it is something simple coz having the dvd option is fanatastic for those like me, who have dvd music and fantasia and such like and playing them as though it was like having cd's.

Hi,

Its definately the Comand System with the 16:9 colour screen. From what was explained to me, the navi dvd goes into the main unit on the dash - there is no seperate navi drive elsewhere and i did not have the cd changer installed.

It was a dvd and the label was facing upwards, again inserted into the front head unit.

I have also just received the tele atlas cd of the uk with TMC enabled, but can not get this to work either!

Won't play dvds, wont read tele atlas ...sounds suspiciously like a duff dvd drive ...

Do all comand systems paly dvds. Are there different versions i.e blaupaunkt and Becker etc etc. The information on the navi dvd dtates version 2.1 and has Becker on it.

Hi,

Ive just been informed that the comand system on the c class is different and can not play video dvds. Can anyone confirm this? Also has anyone got a c class sports coupe with a seperate nav drive as i cant find one.

Merc are now fitting different comand units to the new c- class made by Harman Becker and not Blaupunkt.

Has anyone heard of the 3-5-7 trick and got it to work?

Charge headforth to a merc dealer and have someone explain it to you. take dvd's with you. then let us know what the answers are please.

C Class Comand APS (Harman Becker)

General concensus after much enquiry is that the current Comand unit will not play DVD's. This is actually stated in the MB pricelist.
I hear that somone out there is working on possible fix or add-on. Will advise if I hear anything on this.
