Noise from door pillar

While in a bit of a hurry last night I put my foot down and was surprised at the increased amount of external rushing air noise from the door pillar. While there has always been a certain amount of noise it seems to have just got worse.

The door seal seems to be fine and comparing it to passenger side is certainly no different. The window glass is fully closing also. External closure gaps seem as tight as possible. Nothing visible seems to need attention.

I intend to buy a can of sillicone spray tomorrow and give the drivers door seal a liberal coating.

Will this reduce external rushing air noise?

Any advise would be appreciated

I do not think that silicon will help,,is the wind noise at the top or bottom of the door, its possible that the door is not hung correctly.

The front door should sit 1mm proud of the rear door, and the rear door 1mm proud of the rear wing.

I use a cloth or duster to hold down the door pillar to find where the noise is coming from and move it up and down.

You can also close the door onto a piece of thin card in between the door and pillar, close the door and see if the card pulls out easily

I shall investigate further tomorrow using your suggestions. The noise is from the top of the door.

Thanks for your help - great to have you back as your assistance is very much appreciated by many people.
