Noisy Air Conditioner Compressor

Has anyone any advice on how to fix what I think is a noisy air conditioning compressor? I have a C180 estate 1997 and when the heater blowers are on, there is a 'clicking' noise which you can hear in the car and outside. I've greased the Air conditioning compressor and it has helped a little (it was VERY noisy at one point!!:neutral:) The car has done 130k miles, could it be the bearings??? I would appreciate any hints/tips. Thanks
