Noisy air filter

Hi all,
Stood in the doorway as the wife backed out the drive last night, and noticed that from the outside, my gleaming 270 sounds like a B52 on take-off.
Did a little investigation today and I found the air filter box vibrating so fast that it was blurred.
I have used the rag repair kit (wedged between it and the block which has quietened it down a lot) as a temporary measure (see pic) and I will be having a chat with the dealer, but anyone seen this before, know of the cause. More ammo the better!

Air filter box vibration

Hi

I'm a newcomer to the forum but I have an identical problem with my recently purchased (one month ago) E270cdi. I 've booked it into the dealers for next week expecting it to be fixed under warranty.My local mechanic thinks it could be a problem with the turbo. The vibration on that side of the engine compartment is horrendous. Did you get yours fixed and if so what was the cause?
