noisy heater fan

the heater blower on my 1993 190E is really noisy (sounds like the fan has somthing stuck in there) anyone else had this ? and is it an easy job to fix/repair ?

The bearings could be wearing on the motor. Anyway to get at the unit you have to remove the "leaf catcher" and the wiper assembly (for easy access), then undo a couple of screws on the bulkhead and pull that section clear, disconnect the power supply, remove the blower cover nuts. If you leave the wiper in place then you have less room for manoveuring but it can be done.
