i have a 2 year old CLK - it has been in to the main dealers 3 times for noisy wipers - juddering as though screen too dry or blades tensioned too tight - new blades make no difference - no solution yet and it is driving me mad - every passenger I carry comments on it so I know it is not normal
had same problen with previous S Class which had some kind of adjustment
dealer has agreed to investigate through mercedes
anybody had similar problem?

The wiper unit does sometimes give trouble. However the dealer may be reluctant to repalce it as its an expensive unit and they will probably try to get you past warranty. I would be looking for a replacement.

What only 3 attempts to get the dealer to fix something.

I have 18 outstanding warrantee faults (or poor repairs) some of which the dealer (Main Agent inside M25 thus is MB themselves) has had in his workshop 6 times to fix. Been in contact with them 3 times recently but can't get them to make an appointment to fix them. Given up holding my breath for the return phone calls. They've lost my faxed list of faults twice.

They acknowledge the faults, some resulting from previous bodged repairs.

Faxed a letter of complaint to the them, MBUK & Stuttgart last week. No responce yet. Not even an acknowlegement.

And yes my (automatic) wipers also grind themselves to death on a dry windscreen. at £39.50 a pair (W209 > Aerotwins) I think they are progammed to self distruct.

Noisy wipe

Try doing the screen with RAINEX and do the wiper blades with it as well - gives a lube to the wiper and you dont have to use them as much
