Hi-

I currently have a CLK320 with prewiring and the phone system in the armrest linked to COMAND for company phone which is the Nokia 6310. The company I work for are now changing their phone vendor and are going for the all new singing and dancing 6100 and I wondered if anyone knew if I could purchase a kit to deal with this phone or if Mercedes had one on the way. This new phone is not Bluetooth either, it uses something called Blueberry - does anyone have any advice on what I can do (apart from keep my old phone).

Many thanks in advance,

Dave

Well shortly after the last post - I found out that Mercedes are going more down the bluetooth route so therefore there is not a cradle that will sit in the armrest to allow the new style phone to be used in the same way. Which is not much use to people who have the old system.

I then spoke to our account manager at Vodaphone who announced that I could keep my old 6310 and leave it in the car; I could then use my 6230 while on hoof both using the same number. This is a feature soon to be launched by vodaphone called "multi sim", due to the problem that people have with the popular 6310 cradles and the new design of Nokia phones.

More information is at:

All is required is that you have a short code which switches from the car phone to the new phone (usually #1 and #2 typed into the phone switches the receiving phone). The additional fee for this functionailty is £5 per month, but could work out a lot cheaper than a new phone system in the car :)
