Hi Chas the early cradle only took the exact phone 6150-6210 the later cradles take them all up to the 6310 or was it just the i version that was the odd man out
This is the way it was on my 230

Someone else will give you some better info or you could go to the MB web site

And I would have the same one as you, and this was the way that I read it.

These holders come up on Ebay all of the time now and worth keeping a watch

I am sure that the info is here

There is no cheap way to update to the 6310i as the phone module would have to be changed, cost approx £200 but can be picked up cheaper on E Bay. The 6310i module will work with the 6210 but not visa versa.

As far as asking the MB technician, they told me the module was phone specific and once changed to the 63101 would not work with the 6210, but it does. The cradle is the same.

As per M6AJJ, the cradle works with both phones, its the PSE that needs updating. I bought one from Germany and replaced the original PSE. I can now use the 6310i. If you want I can look up the company I bought the PSE from.

I plugged in the NOKIA 6310i, its charging ok , but it says "telephone not plugged in" on instrument display.
I guess I need it STAR coded to identify it??
Ok situation is fluid..... COMAND screen says -please wait, initialising phone. I am still waiting (10 mins) must be a prob I guess??
thanks for any replies,

ps what is the PSE?
thanks

I am not sure if it will work on my 2001 S CLASS. I think the NOKIA interface is all I need http://www.audiocomp.de/shop/shop.html?lang=de&target=d9.html Interface Nokia 6310/i Translation from German......... Nokia 6310/i FSA interface Mod. by AudioComp.
Reequip free of 5110/6110/6210 on current Nokia mobile phone 6310/i economically!
Simply and already you can exchange the existing interface to Nokia 6310/i comfortably at the Comand use!
Downwardcompatibly ! (6210,6110,5110)
Using equipment inclusive 12 months warranty!

My car is D2B (fibre optics) see pic below of cradle. I think your cradle is for MOST based 2004+. If I am wrong I am sure the experts will advise :D
Thanks anyway, lets see what responses we get here!

cheers

Chas

Hi Chas, remove the rear seat and the soundproof padding from the drivers side. You will see a large metal bracket. Remove this bracket and the PSE is fixed to the underside of this bracket. Simply unplug the PSE and replace, no need for STAR and no need to change the cradle. Works first time. I have tried to post a picture of the PSE but for some reason every time I try to upload the photo the forum just hangs.
By the way I got this helpful info from A Avantgarde on this forum.

Many thanks, I have never removed the rear seat, do you just pull it towards the front?
