Hi there,

I have recently got myself a Mercedes E320 and it came with a COMAND cradle - and the previous owner was kind enough to donate his Nokia 6210.

The phone works fine when it is in the cradle in the car - however the moment I remove it from the cradle, the signal strength immediatley goes to 0 and I can no longer make or receive calls on it.

I have been getting around this by using a separate handset when out of the car and swapping the SIM - I would be more than happy just to use the 6210 all the time if I could get it to work.

I suspect that the handset may be the issue - but I just thought I'd ask the experts to see if this is an issue anyone else has experienced!

Has anyone else had this problem?

Any advice gratefully appreciated!

Thanks,

Jim

I presume you've tried turning if off and then back on again?

Can only guess that the 'phone's internal aerial is faulty.

Does sound like the phone, an external ariel makes a big difference. When i used to fit phone kits for these or any phone to be honest there was a big difference in signal strength when an ariel was fitted with the kit. Have a look on ebay, probably pick a phone up for a few quid.

Thanks chaps,

I suspected it was the phone but wanted to check if it was a problem anyone else had experienced before getting another one.

I've now ordered a replacement of ebay so lets hope that sorts it out,

Thanks for your advice,

Jim.
