Just picked up a set of 17" wheels & Nokian Weatherproofs all season tyres for our SLC. Has anyone had any experience of these? Looking at reports they come out well in ice & snow, but not so good in warm dry weather.
I believe this is an issue with all season tyres?

Well they're designed and started life in Finland so I guess they know something about cold weather
Had no personal experience to be honest, but on Scandanavian trips in the past I have noticed they are well used by taxis....

Nokian are market leaders in winter tyres and have the biggest tyre development area in the world, for winter tyres.

They should be ok!

Used to have a C63...
Not used the Weatherproof, but ran a set of Nokian WR A3 All Season Plus a few years ago - liked them very much!

Was on a C220 - trolled up to Durham on a very snowy Jan/Feb day and they behaved impeccably; got to my brother's road (steep and untreated) chap waving people down at the top as his Q5 was down the bottom, half across the pavement with front wheel hanging off), I proceeded down carefully and car didn't slip or trigger ABS once.

Early following morning I drove back up, no traction issues, got to a supplier site in Peterlee and as I was early thought I'd have a play in a closed factory entrance just to see where the tyre limits were on packed snow & ice - actually had trouble getting the back end to break away!

Ended up running them in to spring and summer - quiet running, fuel consumption seemingly unaffected, handling likewise.
