Non-operational rain sensor wipers- latest

My MB dealer has now passed the problem onto MB Germany informing them of the possible replacement Pilkinton w/screen that is fitted.

How do they think the screen replacement is the problem? Are there defects around the sensor lenses?

I have no idea, I am just leaving it in their hands to sort out, but ready to do battle if I do not get a satisfactory outcome.

Also no one has been in the car to actually check the fault, or put water on the screen etc. they just took my word for it.
