Hello all, I am a new member to this forum and need some help please.
CL 216 series 2009,not starting, battery all good, checked all fuses, does not turn over.
When turning key in ignition there's a very slight whirring noise for literally a second or so and engine not turning over.
Never come across this in 4 years of ownership.Any suggestions greatly appreciated. Thanks, Ricky

Stuck a jump pack on no difference. I now have a click noise from a device to the right side of the brake servo under the front screen bulkhead area. There is an electrical connector plugged in to it and some rubber pipes, no idea what it is / does.Any suggestions appreciated.

Hi All, looking for advise please.
CL still non starter.
Checked all fuses and relays all OK, battery fully charged reads 12.6 volts on multimeter ( should this be enough to turn over engine ? )
Still have a very feint whirring noise for a second or so when trying to start.
Full dashboards lights / everything seems to work OK, lights to not dimming when trying to start.
Appreciate any suggestions / ideas.

Thanks

Any chance it could be a gear selector issue? Ie, the car thinks it's not in park or neutral

Gain access to the starter hi current terminals.
See if there is 12 volts at the incoming larger terminal.
You could try shorting the 2 terminals. 1 is 12 volts from battery t'other is waiting for the starter solenoid to be energized.

If that turns the engine now turn the key and see if the starter has rotated off a dead spot, and so turns the engine.

If the 1st stage turns the engine but the key doesn't you then want to see if energizing the starter solenoid does the same. A short from the incoming larger terminal to the smaller solenoid terminal might do that.

If that turns the engine you need someone to turn the key while you listen for the starter solenoid. If it doesn't click you need check the starter solenoid in the fuse box.
