hi recently had v5 from dvla and it states that my e220 is beige not smoke silver........how could they???? i dont have a beige car noooooooooooooooooooo
Hi, mine is Mercedes 'champagne'(metallic beige) v5= Silver
wonder who puts information on colour to dvla is it a colour blind member of staff at Mb's?
Colours recorded by DVLA are standard - i.e they will not normally write things like metalic, smoke, light or dark grey etc. etc.
They tend to stick to basic colours i.e red wil apply to bth red and maroon cars, green will apply to light / dark / forest green etc. Its to make it easier for police to identify / check cars if the colours are recorded in basic absolute - rather than opinion.
you might call it champagne gold - i could be looking at the same thing but say its smoke silver - get my drift ?
Hi,thats why I felt it must be manufacturer who say's what paint colour, even in general terms, not suggesting including metallic or shades, dvla must have been told that my beige(brown) was silver
If you don't like what it says on the V5, you can change it. You can change almost anything if you ask them to with a covering letter. I managed to change the "body type" on a V5 recently.
Beige is good! Well no its not but apparently beige cars crash less frequently than any other colour. Phone your insurance company and see
if it makes a difference!
