Just my luck, the ABS, BAS and ASR lights are still on after changing the brake light switch. I suppose its a trip to the local dealer, unless anyone has any other ideas.
Incidently, I ordered the brake switch from Eurocarparts on thursday night, it arrived saturday morning, cost £9.59

Regards, Timbo

Yes, lights are on all the time, with just ignition on and with engine running, they don't go out. Bulbs ok also.

No, preumably I turn the wheel from lock to lock with the engine running.
I'll go and try it now.

The ABS, ASR,BAS warning lights come on as soon as the ignition is switched on and don't go out once engine fires up. The car is a 98 c230k sport. 2020242.

Thanks for your continuing interest,

Timbo

Brake lights work as normal, the ABS, ASR and BAS warning lights come on as soon as the ignition is switched on and don't go out.

Worth trying to disconect your battery if it's a stored fault code it might clear it. If it does and when you drive it it comes back on then there is a current fault some where in that abs/brake circuit, possibly pad wire or abs sensor.

With the key out, have a look at the BAS control unit, under the brake servo about 5" x 5" and has, I think 3 plugs on it. Quite fiddly but unclip the plugs and check for corrosion on the pins. The plug nearest the engine is prone to letting in water.

Tried the battery thing, no joy. Too dark now to look at the Bas control unit, but what colour is it, do I access it from inside the engine compartment? from memory there doesn't seem to be a lot of room down there.

Thanks, Timbo

It's black & under the brake master cylinder/servo area, under the bonnet, drivers side & you're right, there's not a lot of room. Good luck.
