Moved the SL today to clean it and when I reapplied the parking brake something broke with a snap! Now the brake doesn't work :(

Another job to speak to my indy about.

That is irritating but it doesn't sound expensive. I find I don't need the Parking Brake very often anyway. When the car is in park it seems pretty secure.

I only use the parking brake when parked on a slope but unfortunately my drive has a slope! Luckily the SL usually stays in my garage with the parking brake disengaged.

This is the second failure this weekend, on Saturday I found out the AC condenser is leaking!

It thinks you're neglecting her and throwing a hissy fit to get your attention. Normal behaviour for a 230 ;)

Can anyone confirm the MB part number for the parking brake assembly in a 2004 R230 SL500.

I have found 3....
230 420 01 12
230 420 02 84
230 420 09 84

Thanks

Do you know that is the problem?
Otherwise it may have pulled a nipple out of its receiver, if you're lucky put it back and bend the metal and it may be ok.
Otherwise it could have pulled a nipple off one of the cables.

Sorry for late reply. Yes I'm sure I need the assembly, all cables are connected ok.
