2016 C250d engine management light on today, ICar soft says 2 faults listed, both nox sensors.
Now the dilemma, only 34,000 miles covered, first two services by Mercedes, 3000 miles & 13,000 miles, then 2 by an independant, 23,000 & 29,000, except for the last one due in Sept which I did not get done at all. Reason being, due to lockdown it had only covered a few miles since the previous service although I did change the oil and filter myself anyway.
Given this is a known fault, would you bother Mercedes and hope for some sort of goodwill contribution, or just bite the bullet and go straight to an Indy?

I would absolutely bother them.

I have had my E220 in twice for NOX sensors similar mileage and service history and had first time 1 sensor replaced and 2nd time both replaced FOC .

They are aware it’s an issue and if they try to fob you off I’d be going to MB head office .

Good luck

You can bother them and try it, but I fear you gave them the excuse.

What goodwill have you got when you missed a service and you are not their customer for maintenance.

Fair point, but maybe I think they owe me?
My CLK rusted at 4.5 years old, after a respray it rusted again at 6 years old, eventually sold on for buttons when the rust returned again.
My C250d at 5 years old needs Nox sensors at a cost well in excess of £1000, only 34,000 miles.
My SLC300 (9500 miles) has a problem with one of the LED headlights which are sealed units at £1500 each.

You might as well ask, what goodwill does Mercedes have for me to buy another?
