Hi to all,
Today, for no apparent reason when I depressed the passenger front window switch the motor ran, but the window didnt move. It still makes the same motor type noise, but no movement!!!!
This has confused me somewhat as normally when windows go, the motor gives up, but it is clearly still working.
Any ideas??
Mike.

Hi Mike

Without looking it could be a few things, but most likely if it is your 124 is that the gear teeth have worn...I am surprised you did not get a chattering noise previously as they became worn...next option is that the gear mechanism has become loose. These could apply to the window lifter or the motor gears but from personal experience I have seen the window mechanism go first...

Cheers

Neil

Good news, all fixed. It had slipped out of its guide.
Phew!
