So today had a weird issue.
Drove up to Lancaster and all was working perfectly. Listened to music quite happily all the way.
Did a little running round up there and all good.
Started the car to come home and "No device connected" comes up. Nothing changed just won't find the USB stick. Removed the stick and tried another that I've used in the car and same thing.
Unplugged and replugged the MMI cable from the connector and no difference.

Any ideas?

Might be worth getting the comand software update. MBS did my NTG2.5 - took about 8hrs as it hadn’t been updated before…
Mine would do a few random things before the update, been fine since

Have you checked the voltage across the battery ;)

I think after 3 hours driving in the dark I'd know if the battery or alternator were duff....
Besides have you seen where the R class battery is?

We'll go figure.
Thought I'd nip out with a USB charging cable and see if the phone charged from the USB port. Came up incompatible device. Plugged the USB stick back in and it only went and worked!

Under the driver's seat ... not the most accessible battery in the world.
When I replaced my R Class's battery I removed the seat completely.
My ML is the same.

I didn't realise the R class was so small they would have difficulty finding space for the battery.
Imagine if MB started to make EV's.

Not that its a small car by any means, not at all, It is how it is designed and just a slightly impractical place for a battery. I have mentally prepped myself for a battery change, looking at all the vids on YT its a seat out job, but certainly less drastic than it sounds

I saw an article somewhere that suggests it can be done seats in situ. I'll see if I can find it.
