The front number plate plinth on my Eclass has broken tabs. Is it possible to use self tapping screws for plastic and screw the number plate to the bumper.

It’s possible but not particularly advisable, there is some wiring that runs behind there so self tappers may catch them (not saying they absolutely will but the risk is there)

You could use Gorilla double sided tape. No screws needed and should stick direct on the bumper?

There are special double sided pads for number plates.
They are very good and almost impossible to remove the plate.
