Dear All,

My 92 200TE (W124) has a weird and very annoying occasional problem. It normally starts fine, almost always at the first turn of the key and sometimes the second (when it has not been driven for a few days).

However, once in a while it simply won't start. I turn the key, all the dash lights go on ok, but there is no life in the starter motor. The same thing as when you try starting it in Drive or Reverse.

It has only happened 4 times in over one year I have had it, but twice in the past month. Both times it was after a very long drive (5+ hours at 5000rpm). Once in Switzerland and yesterday in Austria (ie: big time inconvenience).

Every time it then starts ok after it has been left alone 10 minutes or so.

Any ideas what it could be? I fear it could get worse soon...

Thanks
