Please could someone give me some advice I have a Mercedes E240 Estate that on occasions will not start. The engine turns but does not fire, when this happens the only solution is to leave it for a few hours and then it will start perfectly.
I have had the car checked twice by the AA and towed to two garages, where the car started and after checking they could not find any fault. This non starting is extremely frustrarting and has increased from approximately once ever two months to once every two weeks and lately twice in the same week.
Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.
Thankyou
Paulie

Unfortunatley it could be anything really. We could guess but there is no common fault that has these symptoms that I am aware of. I presume the computer isn't picking it up on the diagnostics?. On the bright side, the fact that it is getting worse is a good thing as it should make it easier to find. if it is getting to be twice a week, you could possibly do what I have done on the 2 occasions I have had intermittent faults.

Basically hand it to an MB specialist for a week or 2. I had him use the car as his own (The dealer won't do this kind of thing). It took a few days but eventually played up, allowing him to trace and fix the fault when it was actually happening.

Thanks

Thanks JBerks
I did give it to a mechanic for a weekend but it was fine.
He put it through the computer diagnostic and nothing showed up either.
