odd smell in my S-class 320

Hi everyone (new member)
I have noticed a sort of oil / Fume smell in the cabin in my 2001 320 petrol s-class - worse if I turn fan off - I thought it might be small rocker box cover oil drip onto exhaust ? when I raise bonnet no sign of leaks but slight whiff of burnt oil ?
Any ideas ?

Hello and welcome to the forum the first thing that I would do is to change the filter for the air con and get an air con anti bacteria kit from halfords
