I'm signing off this forum , picking up a 03 Audi TT Saturday.

My 00 W202 was a great car, and I will miss her, She did leave me down once in 2 years ( fuel pump gave up) but that was all.

It was time for a change and a coupe is fine for my needs, thought about a CLK but figured I can still get away with driving something like the TT for a couple of years so why not?

I may come back to a CLK next time, I do thing the latest is a beautiful looking car ( not to say the older model isn't very nice also).

So, Bye for a while..............................

Good luck Mike!

I'd had enough of Audi after 10 years - you think MB are bad!.......

PS I presume you've tried the TT - pretty on the outside but its like driving a GPO post box on the inside; you've only got the letter slot to look out of.

STRING HIM UP!!!!!!

Guys,

Well at least I am sticking with the Germans !, but I know what you mean Clive, its not my first Audi, I drove an 80E for a couple of years a while back, not exactly trouble free!

But then the latest JD Power has Audi at 9 and M-B at 21 ?

I admit the the TT does not exactly lead the way for Audi in the JD Power model league, coming in at 57. I have signed up to the equivalent TT forum and I realise the TT has the potential to not be trouble free ( just hoping mine will be).
Then again the E class at .... errr 97 didn't really distinguish itself either.

But if we were all sensible enough to drive based on JD Power survey, I guess we would all be in a Lexus or a Skoda ( and yes, I know the TT is on the golf/octavia platform ;-)).
Their Forums must be pretty boring, no problems to sort out or horror stories to tell, :)

I have driven a few TTs and despite some shortcomings , I love them.

Cheers

Thats a good point mike, "went out for a drive today, and made it home again but i did see a thrush, im not sure if it was a song or mistle thrush..... how do you tell the difference?" dont make for an interesting forum

I think some of the best forums ive visited have been related to "troublesome" cars as the banter seems to be little more free flowing.

X19 owners club forum was always fun as was the RX7 forum.

In fact older Lexus Soarers have all sorts of electrical gremlins and tired suspension is expensive to fix without the network of discount parts sellers the German makes enjoy.
If you do your own DIY MB are easyier to work on and the depth of engineering is better too in the hidden areas.

at least you are sticking with Daimlerchrysler!

members can remain members here if they are enthusiastic about Mercedes, you dont just have to be an Owner. Quite a good cop out that really!

I was thinking of Shogun too, but I wasn't impressed with the interior at all, a kind of naff cheap looking with grey seats and dash....now if it came in black (doesn't have to be leather either) that would be diffirent.

Made me feel better to know that 50 TT100's had been on to watchdog £500-800 for instrument cluster
I have been active here for 3 months and we have had 3, that is of coarse that if they all came onto the forum

At least you can still drive without the clock or temp gauge.

I've had 4 TT's ( a 180, a 225 and two 3.2s), and they have never put a foot wrong, apart from a dodgy coil pack in 2002.

I'm changing to a 350 SLK, but I'll be sorry to see it go.:-(

You'll not regret your TT ownership.:D

Can you please move into the middle lane as soon as you can so that I can overtake? Thanks :p

FWIW I like the look of the TT coupe but not the soft top.

Shogun.= Mitsubishi = daimlerchrysler are major shareholders. they even use the 5 speed auto from MB's.

I have one as the company run about.....

you cant escape the MB hand you know, it stretches far and wide!
