HI i am trying to change oil in 1996 M104 engine but i dont know where the oil filter is located is it on the top bottom or side? If you know where that filter is located please post it!!
Also can extract the oil by using a pump and putting a hose into dipstick tube?

Thanks

you can do that but its always better to take the drain plug out, the oil filter is at the front n/s of the engine, a large round black cap, writen on top says 25nm, thats how tight you do it up!!

As SAM above,,removing the drain plug does allow some sediment to drain out

Thanks for your guys help!!:)
However how do you remove the shield under the engine? That is the only thing that is stopping me from using the draining plug. If you know a link that could explain oil change using a drain plug on M104 engine please post it or if you know how please post it. :D

Thanks

Yes, it's a good way to do it.

If there's a load of sediment in there, you have bigger problems than working out which way is best to change your oil!

The filter is at the back n/s off engine on the 104 engine. Black cap as above.
