oil change

hi all
does anybody know which would be the oil to use in my c class its on a t plate 1999 done 114000 just get so confused with the of answers regarding oil on here ....as its due a change now just want to get it right as its such a reliable car:D

thank you for the quick reply would this be best for my engine dont want to wreck it even though the high mileage of the car it does not burn a drop of oil

100k the lifters sometimes start to rattle on cold start, if the engine is good and no issues then why not use Magnatec or even Mobil 1.

mmmmm decisions decisions .....the car has really been good over the past 12 months of me having the car probablywill use magnatec thanks for that jib

Magnetec is ½ synthetic use the full oil that conforms to 229.1,2 or now 3

that just confused me so do you recomend using the magnatec too or is it another oil i need to be using all these numbers just set my head spinning

Magnatec is not an oil that conforms to MB spec its ½ mineral oil and not pure synthetic,,I would not use that one

If as you say the engine is not using any oil,,then it is in good condition,, as long as the spec on the can says meets 229.1 or better then its fine,, I was using it in my 99 129.

Thats what I would do,,fully synthetics have been around for a long time now

cheers mate no doesnt use a drop which amazed me after such a high mileage so will sort out tomoz thank you for your advice
