Why does the onboard computer tell me OBSERVE WAITING TIME when I check the oil , that's all I get ?

The car needs to be on level ground and the engine stopped rotating for a period to allow the oil to settle.

I think every time you switch on the ignition it resets the timer back to the beginning. So switch off have a cup of tea then check

If you do it when the engine is cold there should be no wait

When should we be checking the levels? Hot or stone cold??
