First posting!

Apart from MB, any recommendations where I should buy an oil filter for my recently purchased C220 CDI 2002?

Regards

What's wrong with using MB? Oil filters are cheap and at least from a dealer you know it will be doing the job correctly.

Oil filter

I agree with using MB filters but I live along distance from a dealer hence curious about experiences/info from others on using non-MB sourced filters.

Unlike some filters which incorporate a high pressure bypass valve, the Merc filter is just a filter. You fit one, then 6 months later you hammer a screwdriver through it, take it off and throw it in the bin. Find a FLAPS (friendly local auto parts store) and if in doubt, ask for their advice since they are in the best position to talk about the people who supply them. They'll also supply the local garages so if they supply rubbish parts, it will soon come back on them. At the risk of sounding racist, I'd avoid anything Chinese. Or any other manufacturer names which you can't pronounce.
