Oil Filter Tool

Does anyone know what the correct size of socket cap tool is required for a W203 cdi oil filter housing (the plastic one) As far as i can see it is a 74mm 14 flute tool, but may be 76mm 14 flute. Can any of the techies on the site tell me the correct size please before i go and waste my hard earned. Thanks...Derek

These socket come strap ones will do it

I know Malcolm, and i have got one, its just that im fussy about stuff like this and i wanted the correct cap socket type but dont know if its 74 or 76 mm.

The part number for the MB one is 103 589 02 09 00

It is just a circular cap with bolts the tighten up into the flutes

Cap torque = 25Nm

Thanks for that, jibcl500. There seemed to be a small discrepancy in the sizes, 74 or 74.4mm, or 76mm but the 76 must do the smaller size as well

delboy i got one for my dads c220 cdi at halfords. it was the only size they stock they informed me. not sure what size it is as its in his car but it only cost 6quid!
