This may seem a really stupid question.
I Always like to check fluid levels etc on my car W124 and regularly perform oil changes myslef.
But i have now gone and purchased an approved used W220 (04).
So as i was becoming familiar with the engine I pulled the dipstick to find its only a short red plug - not a dipstick at all with the usual min - max marks.
How on earth do I use this to check the oil level. Can i purchase a proper dipstick?

Any advice will be appreciated.

You are supposed to check the oil from the computer. Just pull it up and if its says all ok, relax.
I believe you can buy a dipstick but you don't really need one any more.
Not long now and they'll do away with the bonnet pull altogether!
