This is getting on my nerves now.

Oil light comes on on incline and down hill, or when going round corners or when accelerating hard.

oil hasnt budged for 2K miles. still on maximum.

does anyone know what method the oil level sendor unit collects its info?

I'm tempted to simply unplug the sensor - I'm assuming its on the sump.

its external on the side of the sump, unplug it or replace transmitter.

It's a sender on one side of the sump. The light should only come on on left hand corners (probably) and either going up or down hill.

This is a long shot but maybe there is a problem with the dipstick, try putting in a bit more oil and see if the problem persists.

I had a similar problem recently, except the light would not go off. There is a little float mechanism that sits in the sump, which does not require the sumpt to be removed. If it is faulty it is easy to replace, however would suggest you jack up one side of the car to ensure the oil does not run out. Alternatively, you might want to check your oil level. It should be on the maximum mark. If it is below the minimum mark, it might b causing the light to come on when the oil level in the sump is low.
