oil temperature switch

The ML has just been for it's yearly service & I have a niggle that me or my mechanic can't get to the bottom of.
When I bought the car the oil temperature always read 215 degrees even from cold.Easy fix we thought,put a new switch in.
New switch fitted & temperature still reads 215 degrees.
Has anybody else on here encountered this or have a idea to solve?

Does the car show the same temperature in STAR?

Getting it on STAR today,will report back later.

I have now had the STAR diagnosis & it is showing a short to earth.
At least I can get my mechanic to find the problem now.
