Hi
An indie has quoted me 6 hours to replace the thermostat on an OM612 engine (5 cylinder diesel). Is this reasonable?
Thanks in advance for any replies.

Me -2019 GLC 350 coupe AMG line. Mrs- ford kuga 65 plate awd powershift .
I've read it's a chew on with parts to remove, but do able by a diyer . Fuel rails and manifolds can be left in situ if the stat is waggled about enough.

Yeah, I changed one in mine W210. Long time ago, but If I remember right, something needed to loosen a bit (fuel line maybe...)... and one thermostat housing bolt is in very dire place but flex or jointed shaft and bit tools will do the job. I would say 1hr diyer, 30 min pro.
