anyone with experiences with these engines the 838 is fitted to a 2017 e 350 which im maybe looking at today , the 920 version was fitted to my 2010 cls , both v6 diesels , just wondering what the differences maybe , power output , any early problems that may of been ironed out now.

Your 2011 version of the OM642 is EU5 compliant and has a DPF rated at 275bhp with 7spd+ gearbox
The 2017 car you are thinking of buying is a Blutec EU6 compliant development of the OM642 with DPF and urea injection system to lower the Nox emissions rated at 252bhp with 9spd gearbox

pretty sure the cls was only 224 bhp . your about right on the e350 though . cheers .
