I ran a search but failed to find what I was after hence asking.

Mother advised 'a light came on when driving'. Mother advised as the EML light that came on, when I turned on the ignition again and show me which one it was, as no warning light was present on the dash when I checked.

A quick razz around the neighbourhood was unable to reproduce light and showed the car to be working perfectly. Plugged in my basic code reader and found code 'P0335 Crankshaft Position Sensor A circuit' code.

What I wanted to ask is, if this is a common thing on these or, if this could potentially be pointing to something else that I'm unware of?

It’s quite common. There was a recall for some many moons ago. I’d get it changed as it can leave you high and dry

Perfect thank you UncleBenz. I know the pain of engine sensors to well from my BMW days!

Are there any links to a genuine MB sensor on eBay? (I could only see the usual aftermarket variants).

If not, I’ll call one of the forum MB places tomorrow and order one.

Can someone confirm the phone number for Mercedes Grangemouth that used to do this forum a discount? I have ordered from them before but, now their number 01324 686000 is no longer working.

Or any other a Mercedes official parts place that offers this forum any any support?

DSK go onto their Website and look for parts dept. Email them with your requirements and mention the forum. Discounts are normally really quite generous and service A1. They are actually an Arnold Clark dealership. I don't know of any other dealership that offers such a good discount, possibly others will though.

You've reminded me I need to order 6L of antifreeze too for a full drain down and change! 6 litres of distilled water sat in the garage ain't no good without the concentrate!

Just hunted Google and tried 01324 666100 which works and is the same place. Only snag is they no longer take phone payment unless you collect in person and I do not have PayPal and internet banking.

Going to call MercServe tomorrow and ask them to just get it ordered and sorted.

That's annoying, assume its because of GDPR and all that nonsense, shame as the discount isn't to be sniffed at.

I used to have to speak to the credit department, give them the payment then they’d let the parts department know and they’d ship the parts.
Try MB Newcastle as they can also be pretty good.

I’ll note the Newcastle number also and use them.

MercServe closed early but told me to call tomorrow morning and they’ll sort it, so will go with that as they will be fitting the part anyway but, have always been happy for me to supply parts previously.

Cars in at MercServe local MB Indy today having this crankshaft sensor, a glow plug relay (why not hey) to complement the all new glow plugs fitted some months ago.

I know a few local guys also use this MB Indy. FYI if you need stuff doing book in ahead of time as one of the guys is working one handed and the owner is battling sick loved on in hospital whilst both try and juggle their day job.

Have to admit sometimes one forgets how well one looks after a car compared to the average Joe. My cls was sat idling for 30 mins whilst I waited for a cab. No choking on typical diesel fumes, no signs of nastiness from the exhaust compared to a 2012 E350 cdi that rocked up, with blackness within its exhaust smoke, instantly causing me to having to move away and it sounded rough too.

The guys also confirmed my thoughts and suspicions so if I add an amg to the stable it will be an M113k engined car.

That 2012 E350d must have had the dpf removed to be like that ?
