Om642 exhaust question

I have a 2006 Om642 3.o v6 turbo diesel and wondering how you determine a catalyct converter and a dpf? Reason being I see a small cubed section twice the size of the exhaust pipe coming just after the turbo and then there's another big box section near the gearbox after the downpipe that has a temperature sensor and a oxygen sensor just after it? Reason being is I want to remove the big box section if possible without bringing codes up?

It's illegal to remove any part of the emissions control system and an instant MOT fail.

Are you sure you have a dpf , my 2009 doesnt . If the exhaust pipe is black and sooty you dont have one .

A DPF will have 2 pipes for measuring the pressure differential, they lead to the differential pressure switch.
And there is a temperature sensor that will have a flex to its connector.
If you don't have these on what looks like a silencer you don't have a DPF.

Doubt itll have a dpf. My 2008 didnt.

I had a 2004 C class with a DPF, it was an option apparently.
