OM656 Tuning (E400d new inline six diesel)

hello all. Has any one at all taken there OM656 past a remap. It appears not a single owner has played about futher. If so just let’s hear!

I can understand why no one appears to have attempted if. To install a Decatted down pipe it appears to be an engine out job, can anyone confirm this?? And we do not know the limits of the engine as of now. For example. Is the charge cooler effective with more power and gear in the block? Does efficiency derived piston shape hinder tuning potential?

I think this will come with time. The om656 is a new and relatively rare unit compared to the 220d’s.

It wouldn’t surprise me if it’s an engine out job, manufactures have to sell emissions compliant cars… and they have to discourage owners from getting themselves into trouble…
With all the emissions carp bolted on to meet Euro 6, I wouldn’t be ripping bits off. The chance of “bricking“ the car, failing emissions and getting some ££££ bills to get it woking again is too high
If you want to go faster, buy an AMG…

I do 30k miles a year! Had an AMG before but my wallet couldn’t handle the 18mpg
