On going problem

Was getting error messages parking lights inoperative, left ant right indicator inoperative, alternating between the three. Now it’s just indicators. All indicators work fine. Front, rear and mirrors. Only thing indicator operation on dash blink double time plus the audio click when left or right is selected.
2014 A200 with xenon headlights, led indicators and led parking DRLs
Looking to sell car but obviously want to fix problem first.
Passed last MOT as tester said as long as indicators were working he couldn’t issue a fail.

Hi,

You mention led indicators and drl, have you changed these to led ?. This may be causing the issues.

Ah, okay... have nothing else to offer, though seem to recall that these had water ingress problems with the rear light units.

How old is your battery?
I had similar odd problems changing the battery, admittedly 10 years old, cured it. Car started and run fine just threw odd problems.

Just had car returned from garage sorted. They have kindly left the original part removed in the car.
Mercedes part number A1669003309. All seems fine.
They said on diagnosis the original part was faulty because of water ingress? They had gained access to the passenger footwell fuse box. Is it likely water would have effected the part here.

A classes suffer from water ingress through the vents behind the rear bumper. Causes all manner of electrical faults. There is a TIPs modification document for this.
