Hello,

I've only recently bought my first Mercedes (although it's only a measly A-class derivative). I've noticed something that i am sure is a very basic query. If i turn off the ignition and take the key out, one headlight and one taillight remain turned on. Initially, i thuoght it was some kind of courtesy light which would turn off after a short period, but this doesnt seem to be true. It also definately not the indicator stalk, which is not positioned left or right.

Can anyone shed light on it? What do i do to get this light turned off?

the early ones off those use to burn out the switch packs on the fuse side, little panel on the side of the dash next to the switch your find the fuses, you could pull out the fuse until you get it sorted but would think you need a new switch, oh and welcome to the site!!

Have you turned the light switch to the parking lights? It doesn't work on the indicator stalk on Mercedes it is the light switch. I used to do that regularly in my W210.

Thanks for the replies.

It was indeed the parking light, doh!

There are 2 notches past the 'zero' mark.
