One-off issue - could not get into 9th gear and manual paddles did not work

Hi,

I am new to the forums and Mercedes. I hope you can help me or at least guide!

I recently bought a Mercedes AMG 220d from my local dealership. I have owned it for a month but at the weekend, I suddenly found that:

1. The engine was revving higher before gears changed
2. It would not get into 9th gear
3. The manual paddles would not switch to manual override

This started happening after being in a traffic jam for about an hour.

Once home, I switched the engine off and restarted and it went away.

It's been booked in to be looked at, but has anybody seen this type of issue before? At least I can look a little bit more knowledgeable when I speak to the team at my local Mercedes!

I'm thinking the car was doing a DPF regen - so kept revs up to allow the burn to complete

There's many parameters that need to be met for a DPR regen - you're best of letting it complete as it will start again if it needs to - probably worth looking at some diagnostics as you can check DPF fill percentage
