First of all apologies for duplicating this post as it's additional information from that http://forums.mercedesclub.org.uk/showthread.php?t=28473&page=2
Can anyone help me with a problem I'm having with my
1995 (W210) E-200 Classic. It started with me losing a bulb which ended up with me losing instrument cluster guages. This has been intermitant but as of late stopped altogether. following on from initial post, I have taken this to a garage specialising in Mercedes and the diagnostic has reported and open circuit on the Instrument Cluster. I'm sure on the phone he mentioned it being tied to either the fuel or water temp but after mentioning I may take it elsewhere due to the urgency in which I need this repaired he would not confirm that (he couldn't resolve in time).

He said to find a good auto electrician specialising in Mercedes or what he wanted to do was have me replace it £300 - £400 for a new cluster, which I would have paid for if he could have done the work in time. The main problem is I need the car repaired for Friday so I'm thinking of paying Mercedes to do it in order to have my car back in time for then. Any ideas before I bite the bullet and get Mercedes to do a replacement? Thanks in advance for any suggestions permanant or temporary fix.

John
