Should be the orange handle under the glove box (RHD).

A small lever pops out of the grill - pull this and that disengages the second latch, don't lift the bonnet/hood with it though!

Depends what sort. However, on most, there is a lever in the left-hand foowell. Pull this to release the main catch. Then there is a safety catch to release. This is a grey plastic piece that pops out of the grille - towards the top on the left-hand side as you look at it. You pull this towards you to release the catch.

If that doesn't happen, you probably have what looks like a missing piece of grill in that area. Bend a 1 inch hook onto a 1 foot length of stiff wire. Poke the hooked end through the hole in the grille, hook it behind the vertical lever of the safety catch and pull. Replacement plastic 'pulls' are very cheap from you stealership.
