Can anyone tell me what is the correct factory suppiled headunit for a '91 W124? Obviously they did vary due to upgrades etc, but what brand were Mercedes using in that era? My car has a VDO 3200 dayton but it looks too modern and also has 2 Alpine amps, crossovers etc plus Alpine speakers in the original pods. The amps are obviously after market but what about the speakers? I have only just discovered the amps which are very neatly mounted under the rear shelf - i dont think the previous owner even knew they were there and i dont think he had them installed - he is 68. !
