Original audio in W140?

Does anyone know what (if any) audio system would have been fitted into my 93 500SEC when it was new? It currently has a Pioneer KEHM9500RDS with a 6 CD changer in the boot but I suspect this is not original equipment. The previous owner told me it only had front speakers when he got it and he added the ones in the rear. This all seems a bit odd for such a high-spec car.

My '95 C had a Sony unit. I thought MB didn't fit stereos as standard until around '98 and left it to the dealer to supply a radio of the owner's choice, though if the above is correct, the may have started earlier on the higher models. The S's I've seen commonly had Blaupunct units, but it depended on the supplying dealer.

I was also shocked when I found it in MB WIS program. 09 on is the only one listed

Dug up this old question in search for answer. Bit of a red face for needing to ask but as my 19 year old can't figure it, perhaps someone can help.

I've got a Pioneer tape/radio with a 12CD cassette in the boot. I can't get the unit to go into set up mode, ie, front rear speakers, fader, etc. All volume comes from the front and posibly the doors. certainly the car was equipped with at least 8 speakers. Its a pioneer KEH-P7100RDS as photo (sorry about the quality). I do ocassionally get the letters ATT and a number on the display which may be a fault code? Tried in both Radio and CD mode but no luck. Thanks
