Hi everyone. I wonder if you could help me?

I'm hoping to buy a reliable old Mercedes SL to use as a company car. In order to work out what my tax liability is I need to know what the original UK list price was & I'm struggling to find any firm evidence of original list prices for SL's from the mid 1960's through to 1989. Can anyone point me in the right direction of where I would get this information?

Regards

Jonny

I have Glasses guide's going back to the mid 1980's that give the UK list price for cars from the mid 1970's. Trouble with Mercedes of that era. Everything was extra, so the actual purchase price could be thousands of pounds higher.

There are plenty of sales brochures for sale on eBay. Failing that Mercedes Enthusiast listed original prices in their specs - not sure if they still do.

or you could try the appropriate

back number of What Car or AutoCar or similar. They will have had the basic prices in the back. Maybe even a polite letter to MB explaining your quest.
