Ouch .....Advise Needed

Hi.my poor car is damaged.Need to replace & paint wing.i am undecided on whether to use Original mercedes wing (£180 +)
or get a replacement wing from either Dronsfields/Euro car parts/imperial.These are all saying non genuine wing is very good fit and of good quality.
Also,does it have to be mercedes paint.?
Appreciate advise on this-Genuine or non Genuine.Will it make a difference?Thanks

Your car is 6 years old. If the rest of the body is rust free and in good condition I would get a genuine Mercedes wing. GLASURIT paint has extensive Mercedes colour matching data so I would tend to go to a body shop that uses that manufacturer. However any competent body shop should be able to make a good job with whatever paint manufacturer they use. If your Merc is a light metallic such as silver, they may well advise feathering the colour on to the front door or the entire side to get a reasonable uniform finish.

I would replace with a genuine Mercedes part.

After market parts tend to not be manufactured to the same high specifications as OE and you could spend days trying to get it to line up, if it ever does.

04. I have a suspicion that your front wing may be aluminium...The aftermarket or spurious wing from the motor factors will be made from steel..and much heavier.. So in this instance, go for the genuine article..also remember cars from 04 on were galvanised..the cheaper parts wont be.. as for paint, any decent brand should provide a good quality match.. Mb dont make paint..

no aftermarket panel fits well there will always be modifaction to be had if you are competent to fit it yourself you could save money but if you are paying a profesional to do it there could be an extra 3 to 4 hrs work involved at say £25 per hr which could add an extra £100 to the cost also the panel wont be as heavy a quality quage of metal so you wont save much in buying an aftermarket panel

Hiya and thanks for all your replies.Malcolm thanks for the offer of instructions but i'm not skilled enough to remove a wing.So even with all the reassurances from the aftermarket salespips feel the points made = genuine wing.
Also.need a headlight clear type.Would be grateful for suggestions to buy from.
