outside temp gauge W124

my W124 estate had to be towed a few weeks ago and since then the otuside temperature guage is reading consistently too high though it does go up and down with the weather. I guess the garage must have moved the sensor.

Given that it still 'works' is this something that is likely to be sortable without replacing the sensor or should I not bother to try?

Check the sensor is still in situ first. They are usualy clipped through the front bumper low down or below the number plate. If it received a knock from the towing equipment it may have been damaged and no longer be within tolerance, hence the incorrect readings.
